WHAT IS MORINGA

The Moringa oleifera plant is often referred to as the “tree of life” as its multipurposeful nature allows for an array of uses with each part of the plant. To start off Moringa is a fast-growing, drought-resistant tree that grows even with little care.

It is believed that Moringa was highly valued in the ancient world by the Romans and Greeks who extracted editable oil from the seeds. Originally from Northern India, records show that the plant has been used in traditional medicine and as a source of nutrients for over 5000 years.

Clinical studies have shown that Moringa could indeed be “the miracle tree” as each and every part of the tree has value. The tree’s seeds can purify water and make cooking and cosmetic oils. The roots have an antibiotic property which can be used in a salve for wounds. Lastly the leaves are especially worthy of attention: Moringa leaves have seven times the vitamin C of an orange, four times the calcium of milk and three times the potassium of bananas.

Moreover, nutritional analyses show that the leaves are very high in protein and contain all of the essential amino acids which is most uncommon in a plant food.
